Sometimes the library is looking for a volunteer with more skills, or more of a commitment or just someone who wants to do more than the minimum requirements.
Teen Club Volunteer (STEM Club, Visual & Creative Arts, Newsletter and/or Podcast)
This club is for students who wish to be more involved in the creation of events for teens within the parameters of the club they join. Club meetings are approximately once a month. Applications are posted in the Teen Volunteer Overview page and new applicants would begin during the new school year (2023/2024)
Teen Voices in Alliance (TVA)
The South Brunswick Library offers teens the chance to join the Teen Voices in Alliance (TVA). Similar to a student council, the TVA offers teens an opportunity to create and plan future events for the library to ensure the library is reflecting current teen interests. They work together to do good things for the community and help the teen staff create an inclusive and welcoming environment for teens at the public library.
If you wish to be considered for membership, please explain why you would like to join the group and what you would bring to the TVA. Meetings are generally on the 1st Saturday of every month during the school year. Applications are posted in the Teen Volunteer Overview page and new applicants would begin during the new school year (2023/2024)
For more information on the TVA or if you wish to apply, email Teen Librarian, Saleena Longmuir and the teen staff at teens@sbpl.info.
Executive Voices in Alliance (EVA)
The Executive Voices in Alliance (EVA) is a specialized committee forming the official leadership group of the TVA. This committee is made through applications submitted by current TVA members who wish to take on more of a leadership role. For more information on the EVA, please email our Teen Department at teens@sbpl.info.
EVA is sponsored by Friends of Library
