
- Katherine Kenny Clayton was born in 1918 in a farm house at the corner of Stouts Lane and Ridge Road in Monmouth Junction. She lived her entire 98 years in the area. She married Charles Clayton and raised a family on land where the new South Brunswick High School is located. She had two children–Karen Clayton Bang and Gary Clayton
- Attended Princeton High School and graduated from there in 1935. She then worked as a proofreader for the Princeton University Press
- Served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher at the Kingston Presbyterian Church
- In later years, Katherine Clayton served as the “unofficial township historian.” She contributed to the Township’s Bicentennial remembrances and provided a wealth of historical resource materials, which is now part of the “Katherine Clayton Collection” at the South Brunswick Public Library. Her contributions to the preservation of the history of the community have proved invaluable
- Katherine Clayton passed away on January 5, 2016, at the Brandywine Assisted Living facilities in Princeton
