Resident Cards
Anyone residing in South Brunswick is eligible for a free SBPL card with proper identification. Parents/guardians of children under age 18 are responsible for all items borrowed on a minor’s card and must be present at time of registration. A library card must always be presented for all transactions.
Our Library has borrowing and lending agreements with many of the other libraries in the region so that our cardholders have access to many more items beyond what is available at our library at SBPL. Our cardholders can use their cards at any participating library, but should know that certain restrictions may apply at libraries other than SBPL. Check our web site or ask a staff member for a complete list of participating libraries.
South Brunswick Non-Resident Cards
Individuals who live in towns whose libraries are not reciprocal with SBPL can acquire a free South Brunswick Library card if they work or attend school in South Brunswick. Proper identification must be presented at the time of registration. The card is valid for one year and must be renewed annually. It can only be used at SBPL and for services offered through our website.
Paid Subscription Library Cards
Individuals residing outside of South Brunswick who do not work or attend school in the Township can purchase a Paid Subscription Library Card. A one-year subscription costs $75. This card allows its holder to have full borrowing privileges at the SBPL, including access to programs and electronic resources for a full year from the day of payment.
The Paid Subscription Card can be used at some area libraries with certain restrictions. We recommend that you call the library you wish to visit to see what restrictions apply.
Reciprocal Cards
Residents of communities with whom South Brunswick has a lending or reciprocal agreement can borrow from SBPL as long as they present a valid and current card from their home library and are in good standing.
