Response to COVID-19: Update #3
A Message from the Director
Dear Community Members,
The South Brunswick Public Library will be closed to the public as of 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 13th through at least Sunday, March 22nd. At that time we will reassess if we can safely provide public access to our facility. The Mobile Branch will be out of service during this time.
SBPL is taking this step to encourage social distancing in our effort to help protect the community from an outbreak of COVID-19 and do our part in flattening the curve of infection.
We’ve extended all due dates for library materials through April 1st. No overdue fines will accrue through the end of the month. Existing and future item holds will remain active for a period of time after we re- open.
We will take pause this weekend to assess and further plans. Starting Monday, March 16th at 10 a.m., our library staff will be available by telephone, email, and online chat to assist you with your information needs or provide technical support for our online services.
Staff will be accessible virtually between Monday, March 16th, and Sunday, March 22nd, during our normal operating hours of 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. for Monday through Thursday, 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. for Friday, 10 a.m.– 5 p.m. for Saturday and 1 – 5 p.m. for Sunday while the building is closed.
Staff can be reached at 732-329-4000 using extension 7286 for the Information Desk, extension 7285 for the Children’s Department, and extension 7290 for library cards and account information. Additional contact information can be found here.
